i just wanna say that the canoeing session was fabulous! although not everyone could make it, im sure there's another chance! it was nice to see all of us enjoying ourselves during canoeing, how we raced against each other and when we went for dinner together, it was nice too!

i really hope there's gonna be another outing soon! can anyone suggest an outing where ALL of us can go together?? (:

hello fellow sc! it's marlene blogging. the first time we're blogging. i urge everyone to start blogging in this blog now!

anyways. the main point of blogging is the SC CAMP! it made and still makes me HIGH! haha.

first of all, lemme congratulate all the camp committee for their great effort in making this camp so successful!

i know i sounded so lame but like i've said, i'm still HIGH!

Alright, first and foremost, I'll like to say that this is undeniably the best camp that anyone has ever attended! I swear. It's truly a turning point of the SC. WHo says it's gonna close down? Who says it's hopeless? Bullshit! It's at it's peak now and is going to continue to peak! There're so many things in my mind but i dunno how to start and string them into sentences but well.. I'm sure the seniors are proud of us (hoho!) and the juniors are eager to join us.

The planning of the camp is no doubt torturous but the fruit is sweet. now that we've seen the participants enjoyed themselves so much, the pain and stress are gone. and it makes me feel like it's all worthwhile.

I've never felt this kinda warmth between the sc before and i'm so glad that before we leave the council, we could sense this warmth and hope it'll keep going on. After this camp, i've a totally different view of sc, and so did the rest of the campers. WE're no longer the group of students who sit in front of the school as if we're punished. WE're no longer the group of students who collect registers and arrange the chairs. WE're now a bunch of great leaders who rock the school! Whoever agrees, breathe now! lol. *so lame.

anyway, i've suggested to mr. tan that in order to keep this HIGHness and closeness going on, we should have regular bonding activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking or smth la. and he's agreed. and we'll be expecting these fun fun fun activities when the school starts! YEAH!

alright, i've too much to say but my words are not making sense anymore. so before i tok more cock, i'll like to end off the SC CAMP 2006 ROCKS TOTALLY!

And to finally and really end off, SC does rock. =)

today Mr Tan ew posted us the qn WHAT DOES STUDENT COUNCIL MEAN TO U? how did u feel when u found out tt u are elected a councillor? n wad are ur hopes n dreams for council.

i heard the responses of those who shared in mrs tan's grp. n u all heard the qn i asked u all too. u knw wad, I BELIEVE THAT TANGLIN STUDENT COUNCIL CAN DO EVEN BETTER THAN WHAT MI'S COUNCIL IS DNG NW. well doe those who heard me share abt hw i found MI's council was. anw, that is nt the main point. im just glad that u guys shared today, n seriously, i almost wanted to cry when i heard all ur comments.

personally, i thk colin is right to say that council takes away much of the time we hv to spend with our cliques in sch. but something that tracy drilled into me is that we hv to knw hw to manage our time, u all may thk im crazy or im nagging, but u knw wad? someone said that student council builds friendship, n that i believe. like i dun rly hv time to spend with my clique but i have wonderful people in council to spend my time with (:

anw, if u ask me, council rly means alot to me. so wad if ppl thk we are shit? we can prove the, wrong right? (:

Teachers' day celebration was a job well done... well... everything so called went smoothly... the decorations and everything was well done... councillors... u have worked hard!!! please continue to do this for all the events that the school is gonna let u handle... the principal's happy with it... so are ur sec 4s...

Councillors... Camp's Over!~!!
To those who came for the camp... thanks alot... you guys were great... i din expect the camp to be such a successful one... better than last year... i'm really very happy with it... the ocs took alot of time to work out this camp... and thank god... it wasn't a wasted effort... Thanks for ur enthusiasm...

To those who didn't come... Wasted Sia!!! u all miss out alot of things... wanna noe more... go find out from the other councillors...

Date : 17th - 18th June
Venue : Tanglin Secondary School Compound
Reporting Time : 8am (in the Canteen)
Attire : Pe Attire
COMPULSORY Things To Bring : 10 Bucks, Sleeping Bags, Torch Light, Personal Medication (if u hv)

therefore, as mentioned during meeting, pls keep your feb as free as possible. due to CNY and the sec 3 camp, we have limited time to prepare for our activities therefore i hope that all of u people would cooperate with the excos so that we can present ourself well. =)

valentine's day:
be prepared to stay back on wed(2/2/05) longer than usual council meetings. these are the possible meeting dates so pls pls pls keep yourself free:

for valentine's day itself. pls keep youself free during curriculum hours and a while after sch to help in the activities going on. don't tell us that u wanna spend ur time with you bf/gf. u can do so after sch =)

investiture:
sec 3s, in case u are wondering what you need or investiture, u need the formal attire ( plain white long sleeves, tie, black court shoes( girls), black leather shoes( guys). stockings eh.... no confirmed yet. =)
after v day, sec 3s will be having a camp from 18-21/2 therefore we only have 5 possible rehersals before the investiture on the 24th. the 5 days are: 15/2, 16/2, 17/2, 22/2, 23/2.

PLS KEEP THE ABOVE DATES MENTIONED FREE. THEY ARE NOT THE ACTUAL MEETING DATES BUT ONLY POSSIBLE MEETING DATES. THE UPCOMING MEETING IS ON 2/2 WED AFTER SCH AT L2 OPEN SPACE. WILL UPDATE U THEN! =) take care.

Maimunah just sent me photos taken during the visit by the Japanese students of Ogaki Junior High from Japan. I'm sure those involved were glad as *hint* *hint* (we managed to skip lessons ;)) but on a more serious note, we fostered an unbreakable bond with the Japanese students. Even though language was a barrier, we managed to communicate by pointing and describe things and also, sign language. To me, a cultural exchange means fostering an unbreakable bond. I hope that they would visit again and also if they do visit again, all councillors should be given a chance to interact with the Japanese students. p.s. those involved, please remember to pass up your self reflection to Jon on monday.

Hey all sec3s... umm... i found a lobang that can print polo t shirt for 20 of us by the 25th of november. details below:

shirt colour: - only choose 1 of e following. * light colours would be cheaper than darker colours*
* dark colour - black, navy blue, royal blue, grey, red, green
* light colour - white, beige, yellow

Picture n words: - small logo in front on the left chest.
- A4 size pic on the back of the polo t shirt.

colour for picture n words: - 5 colours but u can have more
- if you choose light coloured tee, colours like white on the t shirt would follow the colour of the t shirt.
- if you choose dark coloured tee, suggest by the auntie to use bright colours.

price: - 17 bucks for light coloured t shirt, small logo in front, A4 size pic and words at the back, 5 colours.
- 23 bucks for dark coloured tee, small logo in front, A4 size pic and words at the back, 5 colours.

Today I very free so I decided to do this. Peak period is during the school holidays so it's supposed to be $240. But Jasmine can get it at $190. By the way Chevrons is near next to IMM so I don't think it can be called a chalet, not really that fun. Pasir ris is a lot more fun. Got cycling and the beach but as u can see non-members price is about 2 times more than chevrons. I hope someone can voice out if they know anyone is a NTUC member, maybe u can tell the excos. This is just a proposal, just for the excos to take into consideration, no need to follow exactly, in other words just a suggestion.

i've been figuring out the design for our council t-shirt. Till now, i still can't get the design out, therefore, i need help!!!! retired councillors, still councillors, and all councillors-to-be, i need your help for the design. and it have to be polo t-shirt. help in the design and hand it in to the excos asap.
anyone who wants round neck can have round neck but in addition, you have to get one more polo t shirt for formal occasions...

i need some information:-
1) the cheapest price to print the the design on the shirt.
2) the place... best with address.
3) can there be a cheaper price if we order in bulks
4) the size of the shirt. how big is each size (xs/s/m/L/XL)

now we are in the process of getting a student council shirt... i tink most people would prefer a polo-shirt. we need your cre8tive ideas again... give us a design and we might use it and you stand a chance to hav ur name at a small corner of every t-shirt as a copyright of the design u had made...

HAppy retirement to all the sec4 councillors....thanks for the work you haven done in the last six months... without you people, the board might hav fallen. your farewell party would be held after the o'level either in november or december...
